Taste & Explore offers a range of food and drink activities - from evening talks, & cider making, perry making, wine and perry tastings; courses in cider making, perry production, fruit juice & country wine production; weekend food & drink experience breaks; themed dinners & events; guided visits to quality food producers; trips and longer tours. In addition to the short courses, workshops and talks, designed to increase your appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of local food & drink, Taste & Explore also offers courses to help you develop orchard & wetland conservation and orchard management skills. Share in fascinating educational, ecological recreational and scientifc pursuits at The Orchard Centre. Explore ways to protect our countryside, heritage & environment; wander through pear, apple and plum trees; or follow a wetland and haymeadow trail.
Watch the production of food & drink, learn about how it is made and have a go yourself. Sample local speciality, artisan and rare food & drink. Enjoy themed dinners, explore the countryside in West England and the Welsh Borders, visit orchards, find out more about the customs, the heritage & history of the countryside and the changing seasons, pick or press apples, assess grapes in a vineyard. Many of the Taste & Explore courses are run in conjunction with the Cider Academy. Taste & Explore runs bespoke tutored tastings for groups such as wine circles; activity events associated with food and drink, for example Wassails; cooking with cider or perry, competitions; themed dinners in conjunction with a good quality restaurant serving local produce; special occasion events for anniversaries or for corporate entertainment. Taste & Explore runs annual events at the Malvern Autumn Show, The Three Counties Cider Show, and at Birmingham Botanical Gardens Apple Day.
